Group Chairman Xu Niansha attended the 2019 Innovation Economy Forum held on the bank of Yanqi Lake in Beijing and gave a speech at the theme sub-forum of the plenary.
The Innovation Economy Forum was launched by Bloomberg founder Michael Bloomberg in 2018. This forum lasts for two days and is co-organized by Bloomberg and the China International Economic Exchange Center. As the focus of the global economy shifts to the Asia-Pacific, the forum aims to provide a unique platform for global political and business leaders to focus on topics such as global economic governance, trade, technology, capital markets, climate change, inclusive development and urbanization, and discuss together Countermeasures and propose practical solutions.
Chinese Vice President Wang Qishan attended the opening ceremony and delivered a keynote speech. The forum attracted approximately 500 influential government officials, business executives, technology innovators, experts and scholars from 45 countries and regions around the world, including about 120 global industry leaders from 43 industries Chairman or CEO.
Xu Niansha spoke at the plenary theme sub-forum "Is the World Really Flat? The Crater of Protectionism and Populism". Xu Niansha cited Churchill's "persistence, not that we are really strong enough, but that we have no choice", pointing out that in the face of the current pressure, it is necessary to be future-oriented and development-oriented. It is more important to be positive than bullish or bad. To take the initiative to improve, we must analyze the existing problems, and put forward solutions and preventive mechanisms. Enterprises must actively respond, especially to strengthen scientific and technological innovation, participate in global competition, and promote economic development and social progress.
The sub-forum was chaired by Zhu Min, former vice president of the IMF and director of the National Institute of Finance of Tsinghua University; Gary Cohen, former chairman of the National Economic Council and economic policy adviser to the president; Hu Zuliu, founder and chairman of Chunhua Capital Group; counselor of the State Council Wang Huiyao, Chairman of the Global Think Tank, Diana Joyliwa, Chief Economist of Inodo Economics, and others attended the speech and discussion.
